Summary:
The Metal Rhythm Guitar method consists of two books, Volumes 1 & 2. It gets you into playing serious guitar right away. No "Mary Had a Little Lamb" or other pointless exercises. Here you learn the chords, riffs, progressions, concepts, and techniques used across the rock and metal spectrum while at the same time building the solid playing foundation you'll need as a guitarist and musician. It's actually somewhat of a misnomer titled "Metal" as it covers more than just the heavier styles.

Volume 2 includes 107 riffs and examples, plus six more full songs. Covers: barre chords and voicing, strum-style alternate picking as well as accent-type picking, riff form analysis, tonality theory covering both major keys (and variations) and minor keys (and variations), transposing, sus and add chords, slash and inverted chords, 7th and 9th chords, more dyad chords, extentions, common tones techniques, funk offbeats, pick harmonics in riffs, unusual time signatures, half time, shuffle time, dropped D tuning and more.

Some of the bands whose styles are covered include: Alice In Chains, Bush, Collective Soul, Filter, Guns ‘N Roses, Lenny Kravitz, Kiss, Live, Nirvana, Offspring, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Van Halen, White Zombie, and more.
