Contest is open to any Troy Stetina Metal Guitar Method Book user and/or members of the STETINA.com Forum, who reside in the lower 48 United States, regardless of age or level of musical proficentcy (BEGINEERS ENCOURGED!!) Students of Hunts Annex Studios School of Music, and former private students of Jimmy Kane ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO ENTER.
Contest participants must submit a recording on standard CD-R of a single original solo of their own creation and performance, played over the pre-recorded solo backing accompaniment track of their choice from METAL LEAD GUITAR PRIMER, METAL LEAD GUITAR VOL 1 or VOL 2, by Troy Stetina.

Submitted entries must be playable on a standard home CD player (no mp3's, wav files, cassettes, etc.). Non-functioning or malfunctioning entries will not be eligle. Please include two copies of your CD for security purposes, with name, address, telephone number, Forum Handle (if applicable), and email address on face of both CD's. Use "Sharpie" brand marker.
ONLY ONE SOLO ENTRY PERSON. Your single original solo must be the same length as the solo published in the method book of your choice by Troy Stetina. Submitted solos with a running time over or under the allotted framework of the solo section will be disqualified.
Winners will be announced December 1st, 2009 on STETINA.com.
RULES OF JUDGING:
Submitted solos will be based on flow of composition, inventiveness in approach, general mechanical execution and timing regardless of skill level required to perform the solo, and most importantly how well the solo fits the song. Therefore ALL STETIN READERS, REGARDLESS OF LEVEL OF SKILL are strongly encouraged to enter; as the contest is for BEST ORIGINAL SOLO, and not who can play guitar the fastest.
Initial judging will be performed by Jimmy Kane of Hunts Annex Studios, with the last round of Judging to determine the final winners to be peformed personally by Troy Stetina.
