I would like to learn a little more about chord progressions. The rhythm guitar series has helped me a lot to understand the idea behind them, but I suspect that there is more background theory about them.

Does anyone know any book or web page that analyzes thorouglhy this subject?

I don't really want you to go out and buy something but if you leave near any guitar shops or music shops look for

Guitar Grimoire Progressions and Improvisations

Also having picked up the Fretboard Mastery book two days ago and thumbing through it.  I noticed alittle on the subject.

If you have a Guitar Center near you just go inside check out the book have a read in the store I would say you shouldn't buy it cause I think it's a huge ripoff.  There is a ton of fluff in the book but probably about 15-20 of the 200+ pages has what you'll find you're searching for I almost can guarantee it. (The rest of the book is just copies of the same progressions with the starting root note moved)

There a series off books called the progressive add your title here.

If you've gone thru the 2 metal books I would also recommand thrash & speed guitar playin by troy.
THere's some heavy weight stuff there for
Also if your in2 drop tunnin try aggro metal signature licks by troy again.

I would check them out 1st b4 buying, only you know where u want to take you playin & how to do it. We are just here to aid & guide you along the way.

Dude, get Ted Greene's Chord Chemistry and Modern Chord Progressions. Freaking monster chord book...it is so deep. it will take years to get it all in...
