hi there, im using the book speed mechanics for lead guitar and my control when doin exercise 6 is annoying me.

when i pulloff a note i find the other 2 fingers pull miles away from the fretboard. i figure its from the strain of doing the pulloff, therefore getting alot of tension in my hand.

how do i practise controlling this? or do i need more strength in the finger doing the pulloff?

hey, just take it slow and make sure you really focus on keeping them fingers close to the neck. Do this with excerise one(where you go all the way up the neck) But just take it slow. Hope this helps.

i have no probs with any of the exercises prior to 6, its just the trill one - it takes more effort or something =/
thanks for the reply though i'll go back to basics on it and go mega slow see if that helps.

no, you don't need more "strength"... you need more dexterity/finger control that will only come with practice.

it takes almost zero strength to press the little metal wire down.  you don't have to be Ah-nuld Schwarztenneggar to press the string down.
