o, I have a question for the experts : i am a fan of Patrick Rondat (a great french guitar player). I'd like to play some of his songs but there are no song book of his albums
and there are no accurate and full tabs of him on the net. How can I do to transcribe his songs which are really difficult especially the solos (you can't get all by ears, there are too many notes !).
Do you have some methods or technique to transcribe difficult songs ?

Here's what I do:
Get the song onto your computer from CD. Convert the song to a "wav" file. Get some sort of sound editing software and chop the song's sound file up into sections -- maybe the parts that give you the most trouble. Then load them into a program called SlowGold (can be found on http://www.zdnet.com in the downloads section). SlowGold allows you to slow down "wav" files without changing the pitch.
This can be really tedious.. but sometimes it's the only way to do it. If you learn a song this way though, you'll never forget it.

Sounds like a not so obvious attempt in asking someone to do your work for you :O)
If he is so great and difficult then do not go near him. Start off with transcribing easier songs. Songs that you CAN get the tab to to check against your version.
You can't just dive in. well, you can, but it isn't recommended.

As much as it pains me to say it Justin gave Pierrot some good advice.
Like he says, try your hand at transcribing some simpler tunes while you get your transcription chops together. Then, when you're feeling more confident, have another go at working out your Rondat songs.

Errr, yeah, actually. That is the whole reason why it was there, to indicate a joke. Amazing concept, I know.
The whole reason that emotions are around is because it is very easy to misinterpret the meaning of text.
So, if any one sees anything other than the tone that was intended - and is d*mn
well indicated by a round face with a smile - then they are beyond hope.
It was intended as a joke - hence the f***
ing smile in the first place.
Everyone saw it as a joke but you inferred arrogance?? Oh, well, you will see what you want to see. You are so partial that you would see an insult if I said "how I love Australian wine".

That, ladies and gents, is another example of the GK. Realy inefficient and nonsensical ramblings that hold no water at all.
Like I said, his fingerprints are everywhere but for those who haven't analysed writing styles and syntax modelling or semantic paths, the prints will not be too evident.
But let's look over some glaring elements that everyone will notice.
1) The name. "Spork" Classic GK. Just read past posts, by past pseudonyms, recounting past characters (like the praying mantis, the alien being etc) and you will identify what I mean.
2) Name as nonsensical entity. Most other people have names that canbe figured out. Troy and myself use our real names. Others hint at their passions or interests like Metal Leper, Axeslinger etc.
Everyone of GK's has been an actual name: Spork, Phloss, GK, plus all the others I cannot remember. And not a common or identifiable name. Spork is a made up word. Just like his universe. It has GK written all over it.
3) His ramblings at me here and at MM. In threads that were going along just nicely until he stuck his oar in.
And why does he do this? emember when he was slagging me off all over the baord? Well he made a few pathetic efforts to amke amends (through third parties nonetheless, too chicken to do it himself). I have just ignored him totally since I said my piece in the rant forum. Every now and then he mails me, wanting to be friends. These vary from creepy one sentence mails, to hate filled attacks (that is gonna win me round, isn't it?).
He cannot accept it. So he just has to interract with me - even if that means in conflict. That is how he f***
ed up with me in the first place. I blocked his MSN a/c for one day, as he was being a dick, and he just couldn't handle it.
Over the coming weeks he just posted sh*t about me.

Because IP addresses are mainly dynamic and not static.
On top of that, bypassing the proxy server removes the permanent tag of the ISP and any old IP can be configured. But GKknows this already, as I already told him and told him how to bypass the proxy.
What is so laughable is that my jokey post angered you so much to register your name and post. Considering you have been around for ages and read other posts, how come you never felt the urge then? I admit I have been vicious in the past.

Secondly, arrogance? You obviously missed the posts where I expound the abilities of Axeslinger, Van Halen, Phos, Troy, Johnny Grogan, Gary Moore, George Lynch et al.
I have only ever responded angrily to people who attack me or my friends without just reason - like GuitarManSteve and the guy who called PHoS a fake.
The only time I was unprovoked was when SAD claimed Teen Spirit to be hard. But even then, that was not arrogance. I never spoke from "my" perspective but from a general guitar playing viewpoint.
When have I ever said I am better than anyone?
When have I ever sneered that these techniques are easy?
