I'm using a Jackson (Kevin Bond) Randy Rhoads and a DXMG Dinky with APC pickups into an Engl Fireball 60W head and 4X12 Engl Standart cab. I keep it all dead silent with an iSP Decimator pedal and in tune with a Korg DT-10 pedal tuner. It's a fairly straight forward set up which I'm very happy with. BTW, both guitars are tuned to B.

Quote: from Turbo on 6:40 am on June 14, 2008 Charvel Model 1A...Is that that funky yellow & orange striped animal with the Floyd Rose trem system??
The Model 1A was made in Japan between 86-88. Maple fretboard, pickguard with s-s-s setup, trad trem. Basically, Charvel's take on the traditional Strat.

Not checked the PA stuff out but added this to my rig boss ls 2 - swicher Randall kh15 - for 60notes in the uk, well worth it. Line 6 toneport ux1 (this is goin to be run off a laptop when it arrives) shure c606 mic akg lsm 50 monitor speakers the big one this mornin, a peice off costly equipment but I think it will serve me, it cost more than any off my guitars & since most off my amps are small practice type. A ex demo & hardly used marshall(well it had to be) JMP1 valve pre-amp. I played it thru a clean channel off a randall kh15 with my own rg321ex. Man did it sound sweet. Just got to wire it into the rig with the vox tonelab on the effects loop. Now there's a set-up, a vox tonelab le & a marshall jmp 1 & throw in a vox ad15vt for good measure. Now there's a set up. The acoustic rig is on myspace but been moved around abit. Martyn

guitarwise, not a lot has changed. Mainly Jacksons & Charvels, although I have added a guitar or three since the board went down, including (shock!) a few non-JCs Without going through everything I own, with the band I'm using a Charvel Model 1A, Charvel Model 4, Jackson Fusion Plus into a Marshall JCM900 4100 into a Seymour Duncan 4x12. Effects, I'm using a Vox Wah, DS1, Bad Monkey, Turbo Flange, Marshall Supervibe, Ibanez DDL20 digital delay & an Arion 7-band EQ pedal.

Cant comment on the Randall other than those that have em seem to love em. As to your PA system.......I recently was looking over the alternatives and came to the conclusion that The lil portable Package deals make it EZ to pass up on some REAL Value Systems. The Yamaha options I Believe better than the Fender Passport but the Yamaha 300 lacks enough inputs to gig beyond perhaps a trio ( and that would be tough) The 500 is Better with 10 inputs making a Trio easier but STILL, it is lacking some pretty basic features that would be IMHO critical to ANY dedicated PA System. Here would be MY personal Barebones Pick of the Litter. Compare them......& Remember, Peavey made Great PA Systems when Yamaha was still perfecting motocross http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Peavey-XR-8600-PR-15-PA-Package?sku=631377 My opinion & It didnt cost ya a thing If you really want to go Yamaha.........Try this one!! http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Yamaha-EMX512SCS115V-PA-Package?sku=630193 (Edited by Turbo at 4:00 am on May 24, 2008)

Not much lol I have a epi LP 100, and a first act 10 watt amp. But the cool thing is I have been working my butt off nd about to upgrade. For guitars its between a Dean ML and a Jackson RR3. I played the RR3 at my local Guitar Center and it rocked, I loved the neck on it, I could play alot better on it than my epi. Have yet to try a Dean Ml, they have alot of them there though. And am about to buy a Crate Half Stack. And I got a couple old pedals my uncle gave me from the 80s lol

Never tried a soloist, they hard to track down in the uk & the guitar shops I go in when I get a chance. I've only had the rg afew months & it only cost 200notes & I'm still impressed with it. Nope it's the basic bottom off the range spider, was lookin to buy either that, roland cube 15 or 20 or a micro spider but the 15 watter spider 3 was the cheapest & was the lightest as well. I needed a small mulit-sounding amp that was light weight that I could just throw in the back off the car coz I'm doing some off the RGT grades this year. I had a roland micro-cube & it was great but I found out that roland was making a new 1 that was stereo called the micro cube RX & now have 1 on order now you can get them in the uk. Still waitin on the vox tonelab tho. I love the vox ad amp it's a good bit off kit & quite cheap, cann't wait to pair it up with the tonelab. I've had the amp for quite awhile which for me is surprise. I'd love a marshall JVM 410 combo or even 1 off then newer 1's but they alot off dosh & I ain't got the space or the enclosed area to use it. hehe LOL As for guitars, when I go into a shop I only try out a guitar I think I goin to purchase in the near future like the ibanez RG, I tried 1, liked it & then bought 1 online for £70 less than in the shop I tried it in. The above is different for amps & effects tho, I tried the ibanez out 1st with a Vox ad15 which is what I own, so I could get a good idea what the guitar would sound like at home(a good tip there). Then various other amps & effects pedals/muilt effects ( includin a vox tonelab). Later Martyn

I think its these new Meds the Doc gave me...............Sure wish I woulda had these back in the 70's ROFLMAO ) I'm waiting on some 21-1 tuners to arrive for the LP, Its the last item I'm going to do myself..........My tech is about 90 miles away and I was hoping to get down there this summer for a new nut........still trying to get more information on the Theory Z jeweled variety.... I understand they are supposed to really ratchet up sustain to new heights...........I'd rather go this route than with electronics like Sustainiac etc ....Natural Sustain is hard to beat and to me far more controllable. So how do you like that Jackson Soloist?? A Buddy of mine has a Charvel ( pretty much the same thing) and a Jackson for backup........The problem with these guitars for gigging is you break a string and your DONE!!.........Sure have nice tone & a fast flight deck though!!!.........Those IBZ RG's are pretty nice also, paticularly if its got the 25.5 scale ( I'd Love to pick up a 25.5" scale one day ........Probobly would be either a Jackson or Ibanez S Series but its not exactly at the top of my priority list........Its somewhere below a Marshall 2260 vintage Modern and Above Groceries.... ROFL I see you also have a Line 6 spider for practice.........Pretty tough to beat these lil digital modeling amps for practicing.......CD Line in /Headphone Jacks & Dial a Tone make em a pretty versatile little tool. Does yours have the Onboard CD Player Martyn?? I'm not sure what it is but Digital in a live venue doesnt seem to evoke emotion like a good ol tube amp........I dont know, maybe its just me )

Well lets see Digital Modeling Amp......Line 6 SpiderII 30 Tube Amp...............Crate TD50C ( one of the very few Crate amps ever made worthy of their Tolex) mid 70's Matsomoku Les Paul Copy ( Customized) 1995 Fender Strat Squire Series ( Frankenstrat w EMG's) 2007 Ibanez AGS83BZ Semi Hollow (sweeeeeet!! ) 2004 Ibanez AEF18NT Acoustic/Elec w onboard phase 2 project electrics...An SG Copy and a Memphis firebird copy Casio 64 key keyboard/synth Danelctro Wah Peddle ( was a gift....has its uses but I wouldnt reccomend it Behringer Blues Overdrive.....Cheap decent for studio but not gigging DOD Chorus.......worth what I paid but its no Ibanez Digitech Compressor/Sustain.......BUY 2 of em, they are that good!! Boss RC50 looping Station......I'll be silver haired before i get 1/4 of what this thing does figured out...It has electronic drum tracks for 1 thing!! Fostex X18 analog 4 track Boss BR532 Digital Recorder...Cheap way to get into Digital recording this thing has alot of features and is capable of 32 virtual tracks 3.3 ghtz Intel computer media edition beefed up with 1 GB Ram & 160 GB of hard drive......Smart media reader and front Load USB's. Includes a CF microdrive and DVD R/RW........This is intended to be set up specifically for Studio work..........Still working on setting up the space though. That about covers it for now but Ive always got my eye out for goodies I cant resist ;o)
