| I think the quality of the last two movies speaks for how much Lucas cares about anything but the big cha-ching. Don't get me wrong I don't think they were as bad as most people made them out especially II. However, the best movie in the series was not directed by Lucas (IMO Empire Strikes Back ). At least there are the great Knights of the Old Republic games. |

Bummer. However, I know what you mean. I used to idolize big name rock guitarist and stuff, but they let me down also. There is only so much you can expect from a human. Since then, I don't idolize anything made up of flesh or even any material stuff on this earth or even the universe anymore.

I used to worship George lucas and his creations in the Star Wars universe He was an idol to me, but recently I have lost every shred of respect for him. He owns a message board/web site called "Hyperspace" at http://www.starwars.com charging initially $20 and now $40. per year Many fans like me joined this exclusive pay site that promised behind the scenes exclusive coverage of the filming of his latest film Star Wars episode 3 : Revenge of the Sith But to our dismay nothing of that sort was shown ...... I'm not kidding. The webcam was placed in an empty set being painted, yes painted and we literally watched paint dry. The Ad announcing this service said "Live from the sets of Episode 3" At other times it was placed in an office in Lucasfilm where we viewed a man sitting at his computer. His pay site message board had a thread titled "Make George Lucas say hi" with fans begging him to say just "hi" ....for 2 years and nearly 200 posts later he hasn't responded. Not even a "thank you " The Oscar winning director of Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson, runs a site for his latest film King kong http://www.kongisking.net which is not only free but has daily yes daily downloadable videos covering his filming of the movie. plus a scheme to submit questions to them which he answers in the video! I'm appalled. Why is George Lucas acting this way? Is there no end to his greed? Why this arrogance? Is this the same man who created the Star Wars universe with concepts like the "force" and creations like "Yoda" or does he create/write characters and preach morals in his films he himself dosen't follow? Or when your assets hit the $5 billion mark does your thinking go erratic? H (Edited by PLAY LOUD at 7:33 am on Feb. 1, 2005)
